Our Journey

Tempa & Naor’s story began in 2007 at a jam session in Colorado, hosted by Tempa’s award-winning band, Tempa and The Tantrums, which won Best Blues Band in Colorado in 2006. Their instant connection as songwriters, friends, and lovers blossomed into a unique blend of soulful music.

Music Medicine

Driven by the belief that music is a form of healing, Tempa & Naor create “Music Medicine,” sharing personal experiences through powerful storytelling. Tempa, an experienced blues singer with over 30 years of performing, has graced stages with legends like BB King and Mavis Staples. She also hosted an award-winning jam session in Denver for over a decade. Naor, who grew up in Israel, blends his rich background in composition and community spirit to complement Tempa’s voice. Together, they formed Soul Kitchen, which won “Best Band on Maui” in 2017.

Our Creative Process

Tempa primarily crafts the lyrics, drawing from her experiences, emotions, and observations, while Naor composes the music, shaping melodies that bring Tempa’s words to life. Together, they create songs that reflect their shared journey, blending soul, folk, Americana, and blues.

Personal Influences

Tempa and Naor’s music is deeply influenced by their backgrounds and life experiences. Tempa’s early exposure to bluegrass and gospel, her battle with lupus, and the profound loss of her eldest son infuse her music with raw emotion. Naor’s upbringing on a kibbutz in Israel and his work as an ambassador and educator add layers of depth and resilience to their work.

Beyond the Music

Outside of music, Tempa and Naor have explored their creativity in various ways, from running a chocolate business to hosting Mediterranean food pop-ups. Their passion for community extends beyond music, as they bring people together through both their art and their side projects.

Impact and Vision

Tempa & Naor aim to inspire and connect with their audience, inviting listeners to join them on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and celebration. Through their heartfelt performances and soulful music, they hope to shine a light on the beauty of life, one song at a time.
